10 ways to attend a conference without being there.

With so many empowerment workshops and conferences popping up all over the country, there's no way you can attend them all.   Matter fact, unless you hit the lotto, anyone who even tries will go broke trying to do so.   I heard of  a  organization called  Blogalicious  in 2016.  When it came across my timeline, it was RIGHT AFTER they had their conference.  I went to their site, their Facebook page, Twitter, and IG.  I fell in  like   with the organization from the start.  I had made up in my mind that 2017 was going to be my first year.  I so desperately wanted to attend a conference called  Blogalicious  in Miami this year.     At first the timing was perfect for my schedule.  That is until we found out that my sisters due date was close to it.  Not only that, my only brother was coming home from his deployment in the Middle East in October.   So I d...

Prosperity Tour Recap

For most people, January 1st starts a new beginning as we enter the new year. For the last four years, April is my business New Year. I made it a goal for 2017 to attend at least 3 - 4 Business / Empowerment conferences last year. Due to the business of life, I only had the chance to attend 1. The Success Tour - now the Prosperity Tour - with Dr. Stacia and Ariana Pierce. I’ve Been attending this conference since 2015. I was introduced to the Pierce Empire about 2 weeks before my grand-daughter was born. I googled Dr. Stacia and found over a hundred training videos that just blew my mind!!! I went to college with no plans of going into business. So when I decided I had no idea where to start outside of going back to college. That is until my encounter with Dr. Stacia. It was her training through YouTube that drew me to attend the Success Tour (now Prosperity Tour) in New York City. I was a little hesitant about enrolling for this year’s conference. Fearing that I’ve probably heard everything that Dr. Stacia and Ariana had to teach. What pulled my decision to attend was that as a subscribed follower, I had the opportunity to catch an early bird special that allowed 3 attendees for the price of one. Decision made!

The conference was being in my favorite city once again - New York City - this past April 21st.   I attended this conference with no regrets!!  The energy that overtook me when entering the room gave life to my exhausted body.

Ordinarily, when seated for more than 15 minutes I am a daydreamer but not at all during today’s session. Dr. Stacia’s photographer grabbed the perfect shot of me in a moment that I could not blink or think of anything else besides the next words that would guide me towards success.

I have to say that every year, Team Stacia and Ariana, show forth the best organization and pleasantness year after year. Just standing in the line awaiting entrance, I can hear the team interacting and addressing attendees by the first names. They are always willing to help and answer questions as well. By this being year 3 for me, I decided to do something different and give myself an assignment and take time to get to learn one thing about the team. A reformed shy person, but definitely still an introvert, I grabbed one question that I would ask every team member that I came close to.

I had the privilege to attend this year's conference with the Business Buddy and Entrepreneur that introduced me to the Pierce Empire, Marie Toya Marshall of MTM Boutique and Harmony Handz Youth Empowerment. It’s always good to have a Business Buddy that will keep you accountable to the information that you took in. I felt that with the wealth of information shared during the conference, that there wasn’t an entrepreneur that wasn’t inspired to succeed. I walked away with 10 pages of notes and fresh ideas to start my Business New Year off on the right foot. It feels like a day of business school.

During the conference, we also had the opportunity to network and meet other entrepreneurs as well as those aspiring to be. Honestly, this is still one part I still force myself to participate in. I feel as though networking moments during conferences such as this is more like speed dating. One of my focuses this year is to build stronger lasting business relationships. I had a network experience during this conference that I haven’t had before at any other event. My first partner was Jenelle, of Pynkhaus, who sat right behind me. Our Emcee, Jarrod, gave us a limited time to answer 3 questions with one another. At the end of the designated time, we had to move to another person. I then moved to a known celebrity that attended, and snapped a few pics for the blog then headed back to my seat. Then we got prompted to do it again as if the first go-round wasn’t hard enough for me. However, Jenelle came back to me and said, “ I wasn’t finished”. I recall blinking, surprised by her statement because no one has ever said that to me during a networking moment, so I went no further and we continued the conversation. The crazy thing about my encounter with her is, we didn’t exchange business cards but followed each other on social media instead.

Her action to make me feel that our encounter was more than a speed dating moment, led me to for the rest of the conference to focus not only what businesses she had, but her name. I can’t tell you how many business cards I have and can’t remember who or where I’ve met most of them. Jenelle has inspired me to change that from this moment on.

My second network memory of the day is from my hometown - PHILADELPHIA!!! Philly was reppin’ the conference this year!! She stood out to me not only because I brought a power strip for others to share a charge, but she wore my favorite color and looked the part of a woman who is serious about her business. Right after our introduction she went right into sharing business tips. I’ve found entrepreneurs see another as competition. My encounter with her was just the opposite. Her friendly personality made it easy to converse and ease the tension of networking.

This Mother-Daughter dynamic duo put my fears to rest!! So the fear was that I would be hearing more of the same thing or fresh concepts, systems, or training. I am glad to report and say it was far from that! I could tell just from listening that there was no need to compare notes from the years before. I literally sat with expectation at the end of every word, every task, very new assignment that fell at the end of my ink pen that left me with 10 pages of notes.

Our conference was broken down into 2 sessions. It ran from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Our first session was geared towards Social Media by the SM Guru Ariana Pierce and then Dr. Stacia followed up and closed us out with a plethora of information that will boost our businesses or start us off on the right foot. While you had to be there to get the “Good-Good”, I’ll share two of my takeaways from each other them. From Ariana on Social Media, I’ve learned to post on the level that I want and create a lifestyle around your band. From Dr. Stacia, my two takeaways are - Don’t let people influence you away from your dream. That touched home for me. The second was - if it didn’t work the first time - RELAUNCH!! I wish I could share more with you guys but I’ve said too much already. To get this and more, you have to attend next year. Dr. Stacia and Ariana Pierce just completed their 3 Day conference in Orlando, Florida. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend, but I saw nothing but happy faces and heard great things. Next year, I will have a place in the room!! To follow the conference happenings, you can follow the hashtag #staciasuccesstour and #arianasuccesstour
